This artwork was created for my IBDP Year 1 Visual Arts course where I were given the task of creating an ‘aggregate’ piece. I used water colored drawing paper as the base to create all the elements of the eye (pupil, eyelashes, eye bags), using thread to connect all these individual pieces.
The overarching concept I wanted to deliver in this project was the common human experience of pressure and conformity. While pressure can be perceived as both positive and negative , I decided to explore the pressures we face from those we surround ourselves with, which can cause us to feel beleaguered.
